Who or what is Comedy Detour?
Who we are
Comedy Detour is a collective of professional stand-up comics, many of whom you have seen on TV and/or heard on the radio. We are all fully independent artists committed to promoting quality shows, striving for excellence to keep people laughing and coming back again and again to see comedy. We love nothing more than to leave an audience in tears and laughter and have done so in countless venues across the world. The shows we produce will have people remembering the acts and not just going to "another comedy show". We will lend our combined experience to make sure that the comedy entertainment, at your venue, is the best it can be. We can write customized material, provide sound and lighting equipment and work with you to make sure all details are taken care of. Our comedians are consummate professionals, who take their craft seriously and have honed it to hilarious perfection over the years.
Comedy Detour is headed up by Daryl Makk , a comic whose act has spanned all of Canada and the globe since 1993. He sought other like-minded comedians to work with, many of whom are often found working in the demanding world of corporate shows. We are used to creating tailor made, non-vulgar shows for clients and behave professionally on and off stage. We have scouted the next wave, of up and comers that show promise of being solid headliners, and utilize their talents, as the opening acts for our shows. This provides a flow of quality stand-up comedy for your venue.
All our acts know each other and get along so you never have to put up with off stage politics. WE ALL WANT TO BE AT YOUR VENUE!

Our goal is to help all stand-up performers, with merit, grow to their full potential while giving the public what they want- great stand-up comedy!!
We encourage an open and free market where stand-up comics can work, with limitless opportunities, for their creative expression and development.
We are for fair play and fair pay and prefer to work with comedians/venues that share this vision of success for all.
All venues under the Comedy Detour name are expected to treat the acts with respect, fairness and a respectable level of pay. All Comedy Detour acts will strive to act professional on and off stage, treat venues with respect and perform to the best of their abilities each time they take to any stage. It is through this approach that the comedy market will continue to grow while raising the standard in the comedy world.
